MS Day Of Service took place on March 6th at three locations in Jacksonville. Volunteers from the Multiple Sclerosis Society of North Florida were matched up with people in the area living with MS to visit and help with home maintenance projects. This inaugural event was part of MS Awareness Week.

St. Augustine opened up a 5-0 lead after six innings in a non-district game played Monday night in Middleburg. Middleburg had been undefeated in first three games. St. Augustine eventually won 6-0 to put their season record at 1-1.

Art Garfunkel-St Augustine Amphitheater

Art Garfunkel sang at the St Augustine Amphitheater. It was a clear crisp evening, highlighted by a full moon. The Jacksonville Symphony got us warmed up, especially with their inspiring take on the music from West Side Story. They performed also with Art Garfunkel and his band. The St Augustine Amphitheater is a great place for family or a date. Plenty of food and drinks and they serve wine and beer. Relax under the stars when the weather is warm. They also have a cover available for inclement weather. The acoustics are amazing. The great thing is you can spend a day walking through the city, then enjoy a concert. Art did a wonderful job and had us all standing and singing Cecilla for his encore. I brought my daughter with me for this venue, and am looking forward to visiting again. My only disappointment was I was only allowed a simple camera, but I hope you enjoy the pictures anyway.

Bartram Trail: SJRAC Girls Soccer Champs

Bartram Trail High School's girls soccer team pushed a 3-0 halftime lead to a 7-0 win over 6A-Orange Park to win their second straight St. Johns River Athletic Conference title. Bartram Trail also maintains an unbeaten season record with local teams starting district play this week.

Bolles is the defending 3A state champ while Bartram Trail lost in the 5A regional finals. Bartram Trail remains undefeated at 15-0-3.

5A-Bartram Trail High School's boys soccer team got a second half goal to break a 1-1 and win 2-1 against visiting 6A-Mandarin High in a clash of non-district powers on Saturday. Bartram Trail visits district 5A-3 rival Fleming Island January 9 while Mandarin hosts 6A-1 rival Buchholz on January 13 as area high school sports heads into the second half of their season after the holiday break. St. Augustine wins Battle of Champs

St. Augustine High and Ridgeview High, both crowned district champions, played a non-district football game at Ridgeview with the 3A-4 Yellowjackets defeating the 4A-5 Panthers 28-14. The Panthers also hosted their football seniors and their parents plus had a crew of Junior RHS cheerleaders on the sidelines.
