On Sunday, after a near tragic mishap that involved boat and a triathlete, the Marineland Triathlon series in St. Augustine put together a sprint and Olympic distance triathlon that swam in the Atlantic Ocean then biked and ran down A1A in the blistering Florida sun. Memorial Day Ceremony

The Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery in Green Cove Springs held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony with Veterans from wars past and present, The Color Guard was provided by the General Roy S. Geiger Detachment #1047 of the Marine Corps League in Clay County. The Rifle Squad was from the Jacksonville Detachment #059 of the Marine Corps League in Duval County and the Viet Nam Vets and Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club visited with a flyover by a 1945 L4J Aircraft from the Wings of Dreams Aviation Museum in Keystone Heights.
Bartram Trail's Prom held on May 17, 2008 at the Hyatt Resort in Downtown Jacksonville.

Ride Into History

More than 300 vintage and classic motorcycles were on exhibit at the World Golf Village Walk of Champions for the annual Ride Into History on May 17. Thousands of riders and motorcycles enthusiasts attended this day long event featuring the history of motorcycles spanning from the turn of the century to present day classics.

The Bartram Trail Relay for Life was held at Bartram Trail High School on May 3. Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight community experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. People from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and help with ways to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer.
